This weekend is a great time to explore Seal
Beach. Though not as well known as its iconic, Surf City neighbor Huntington
Beach, Seal Beach has lots to offer. And you won’t find a friendlier city.
or watch the world go by from one of the benches on
Main Street or on the pier.
Along with its small town charm, Seal Beach has many
restaurants, coffee houses, shops, and art galleries…all conveniently located
on Main Street or a short walk away.
There’s something for everyone…shops selling clothing and
beachwear, kites, old vinyl records, antiques, jewelry, furniture, toys, ukuleles,
and sea shells.
Be sure to stop by Canvas Shop and say “Hello” to the
owners Ryan and Tammy Callis. Along with custom covers for your boat or sports
equipment, the shop has all kinds of unique artworks, clothing, and gift items.
Right next door is Devynn’s Garden flower shop.
You never know what you’ll find in Seal Beach. On our last visit SurfWriter Girls Sunny Magdaug and Patti Kishel saw this dog named Sassafras all
dressed up for a party.
Every kind of restaurant you can imagine is here – seafood,
hamburgers, barbeque, and pizza, Mexican, Irish, French, Thai, and more.
And when you’re ready
for dessert just follow your nose to the smell of fresh baked cinnamon rolls at Sweet Jill's bakery... or stop in Cold Stone Creamery
for an ice cream cone.
picnic and play volley ball…fish from the pier …or watch the fishing boats.
Then, at the end of the day, shake the sand from your clothes and watch the best show of all – a glorious sunset.
