From Main Street to the pier and
up-and-down the beach there’s something going on now at Vans US Open of
Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA – Surf City USA.
The nine-day festival – with surf,
skate and BMX action – is a sports, arts and culture tour de force expected to
draw half a million visitors.
Judges and fans are filling the
stands watching the competitions.
Everyone’s sharing the stoke – from seasoned
surfers to the littlest groms.
Harley-Davidson bikes gleam on the
sand.
Jeeps beckon you to get behind the
wheel.
Swatch has a spot for you to chill.
The Van Doren Village is open for
fun and games.
Design your own customized bag or
hat and check out the beach art.
Wahoo’s Tacos and nearby restaurants
and shops have lots to tempt you.
And, for a look at how surfing
began, stop by the International Surfing Museum exhibit The Origins of
Surfing, featuring paintings by artist Ron Croci.
It’s a jam-packed week for the surfing
tribe…and the welcome mat is out!
