Bella Lagmay-Funk Living Life Large
Written by SurfWriter Girls Sunny Magdaug and Patti Kishel
When you meet Bella
Lagmay-Funk she leaves a lasting impression. Filled with energy and
exuberance, Bella is always involved in staging an event or promoting a person
or cause.
From her early days at Capitol Records promoting music performers and working with the Golden Bear nightclub in Huntington Beach…
to helping build the iconic Hobie beach lifestyle brand and her current public relations gig with The Red Hat Society, Bella is right in the middle of the SoCal action.
With a phone set to
speed dial leaders in entertainment and sports, Bella knows who to call to get
a project going, make an event happen or bring people together…even the
Terminator, former California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
SurfWriter Girls
Sunny Magdaug and Patti Kishel watched her moves at the U.S. Open of Surfing in
Huntington Beach and saw firsthand how she connected with surfers, sponsors,
and the media.
Bella has been on a fast track from the beginning, whether as editor-in-chief of the Buena Park High School newspaper or honing her journalism and communications skills at CSU Fullerton.
Bella has worked
with Thee Midnighters, The Platters, Frank Zappa, Tower of Power, and the
Chairman of the Board himself, Frank Sinatra, when he performed at the Cerritos
Performing Arts Center.
Throughout L.A. and
Orange County, like some of the celebrities she promotes, Bella only needs one
name to be recognized.
Coming from a large
Filipino-American family, she is used to juggling lots of things at once. And,
with her bright smile and welcoming vibe, she makes everyone want to get onboard
whatever event or activity she’s staging.
Wherever you see her
– from the beach to the Beatles Abbey Road, the Las Vegas Strip, or a cruise
ship – you can be sure that Bella Lagmay-Funk is living life large.
